Dear colleagues

It is the more and more frequent to hear our national authorities and funders to clearly divert the sense of the UNCPRD declarations. These, taking the principle of de-institutionalization of services to an extreme, advocate for the outright closure of any "sheltered" structure, whether in the field of employment or housing of persons with disability.

Accessibility of mental health services for people with intellectual disabilities: where are we?

Supporting people suffering from a "dual diagnosis" is the leitmotiv of the APEMH. In this sense, whether through training courses or dedicated events (April 2017 cross-border day, EAMHID congress in September 2017) and more recently a Thematic "White Paper" project and a documentary, APEMH has been coordinating several initiatives aimed at raising awareness of the various actors concerned.

Training seminar on impact and dissemination for strategic partnerships

At the end of March APEMH, as coordinator of the ENABLE Project, was invited in Bordeaux to attend the Training seminar on impact and dissemination for strategic partnerships. Hosted by the France National Agency, the event was organisd by a consortium of E+ National Agencies from France, Luxembourg, Flanders, The Netherlands, Finland, and Croatian.

ENABLE Dissemination Conference

On the 5th of December 2017, coincidentally European Disability Day, took place the ENABLE Final Dissemination Conference.

The purpose of this event, organised with the support of the European Disability Forum, was to present the project results and achievements to a large audience composed of users of services, service providers, relevant stakeholders, and policy makers. The dissemination Conference was conceived as an important tool in the valorisation and dissemination of the experience and outcomes of the entire project. The form of the event was highly interactive with knowledge production and knowledge transfer being explored through innovative approaches with due regard to inclusiveness and accessibility for all participants.

ENABLE Dissemination Workshop in Luxembourg

On the 11th of May took place in Luxembourg the first ENABLE Dissemination Event.

Enable is an Erasmus+ project whose aim is to improve how adults learn about Co-Production and how they teach others on Co-Production.

The event aim was to raise awareness and disseminate the intellectual output co-designed, co-delivered and co-evaluated with other local social service providers.

Celebrating the EU with a bicycle trip from Rome to Brussels

Lucia Bruni is a member of the Open Group social cooperative who is currently running a bicycle repair and sale shop that employs disadvantaged people.

Lucia defines herself an explorer of different worlds, cultures, and languages. Her passion for the bicycle and for the European Union led her to start a bicycle trip from Rome to Brussels to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Treaties of Rome (1957-2017).
