This edition will be delivered both in person and online in an exciting new hybrid format. Register here! and decide later whether to attend on-site in Berlin or online
You can already submit your abstract here. EAMHID 2021 welcomes research and practice related submissions, both from academic researchers, the professional community and participatory projects from people with intellectual disabilities either alone or co-produced. Deadline for abstract submissions: 15th March 2021. All abstracts will be peer-reviewed and published in a special issue of the Journal of Intellectual Disability Research (JIDR).
A multifaceted cultural programme is included within the congress. These include a T4 memorial service and a professionally accompanied excursion to a T4 memorial site. There will also be musical highlights. These comprise the brass players Lobetal, the Bethel band “Oder-so” and a young autistic piano player, Moritz Pinnow, as well as a performance by the Berlin improvisational theatre group Gorillas. There will also be welcome and networking receptions, meals and coffee breaks, which will offer ample opportunity to meet and exchange ideas.
The EAMHID 2021 Congress in Berlin will contribute to improving mental health in persons with intellectual disability through fostering evidence-based treatment and highlighting innovation.
The congress will provide numerous formal meetings and informal encounters for scientists and practitioners, as well as persons with disabilities and their families.
The stakeholder approach will promote strongly the implementation of scientific findings in daily lives and therapeutic practice.
The congress will bring together current knowledge and expertise in multiple formats such as solicited and co-productive symposia, workshops, round table discussions as well as key note and state-of-the-art lectures.
The Congress will be organised at the URANIA Berlin (An der Urania 17, D-10787 Berlin) from the 23 to the 25 of September 2021.
